My Story
My name is Lyndsee Bates, and I LOVE Scentsy!
It all began in August 2006, only 2 short years after the creation of Scentsy. My husband and I had two little girls (ages 2 and 1) in our family, and I worked a few times a week as a dance teacher to make some extra money and get out of the house; thanks, hubby.
My older sister came for a visit from Idaho, where the Scentsy Headquarters is located. Before visiting, she told me how she had started her own Scentsy Independent Consultant business and asked if I would host a Scentsy Party for her. I knew nothing of Scentsy at the time, but, of course, I would help my sister. I invited some of my close friends to my house, provided some food and drinks, and sat around talking and laughing together as my sister showed us Scentsy warmers and smelled all the wonderfully fragrant scents. My friends and I purchased over $2,000 in Scentsy products, earning me some awesome hostess rewards!
That day, I fell in love with the beautifully designed and crafted Scentsy warmers, the unique wax bar scents, and the method of selling. I talked with my husband about joining, and we made a few adjustments to our small family budget. I joined my sister's Scentsy team the following month. That investment of $99 for the starter kit (today's starter kit is still $99) has been well worth the investment!
Soon, I was sharing my love of Scentsy with EVERYONE! Friends, neighbors, and, to my husband's embarrassment, even waitresses on date night. With two small children, I worked hard but worked when I wanted, allowing me to keep my family first. I slowly grew my Scentsy business, and after a few years and a baby boy later, it became our family's sole source of income. My husband was able to enjoy the life of a stay-at-home dad. And we haven't looked back!
Today, 18 years later, I am blessed to have obtained the highest consultant title of Superstar Director. My group has grown to over 10,000 consultants, many of whom I have helped earn the title of Director and above, including 16 Superstar Directors. With the help of my wonderful group, I am 1 of only 3 Scentsy consultants since Scentsy began in 2003 who have achieved the Circle of Excellence!
On any given day, my home contains no less than 15 Scentsy warmers lit up and filled with incredible scents, my favorites being Vanilla Bean Buttercream and Blue Grotto. It makes my day when strangers in the grocery check-out line comment on how great my clothes smell, thanks to the Fluffy Fleece Laundry Liquid and Washer Whiffs, or when guests are amazed at how wonderful my home smells as they step foot into it. How can I not love Scentsy?
